In the Fall of 2019, I submitted a short story, Change, to The Betty Award. Little did I know, I would win first place! I actually happened to be sick at the time, and I remember when my mom woke me up to talk over the phone to the women who owned the Betty Award. Along with it came $300, which I used to create this very website. This was the first award I'd ever won, and it certainly was a good one.
